Goa's largest protected wilderness, the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary spreads over 240 sq km of Western Ghats rainforest at Mollem. Leopards, gaur, giant squirrels and over 120 bird species move through its canopy, while Devil's Canyon and the Dudhsagar trails reward every early start. A guided permit walk here is Goa at its wildest — green, unhurried and utterly removed from the coast.
